This is a travel story about
Naranathu Branthan rayiranellur malakayattam. It is a Myth in Kerala about
Naranath Branthan.It is believed that goddes Durga blessed was the 1st day of
the month of Thulam, the fifth son of the Panthirukula, Naranath, who went mad.
Devotees on this day regard the legend of climbing the mountain.

Branthan was born 1500 years back as the son of Vararuchi, the famous astrologer
of that time,Naranathu Branthan was one among the twelve offsprings of
Parayi,the wife of "vararuchi" and was brought up in the
"Naranathu Mangalath Mana" which is situated at Chethalloor in
Palakkad Disrict,Kerala India. He was considered to be a divine person,a Mukhta
who pretended to be mad. His main activity consisted of rolling a big stone up
a hill and then letting it fall back down. The Naranathu Brandhan Mala (hill)
is located at Rayiranelloor in Palakkad district on the Valanchery Pattambi
road after Thiruvegappura Shiv temple. It takes 1.5 hour to climb the hill.
Many climb the hill during 1st of Thulam (mid October). On top there is a
statue of Naranathu Brandhan.
